EF Ultimate Break - My Honest Review

9/1/2022

Comments

EF Ultimate Break is a worldwide brand, specializing in language instruction and group travel trips. They have different brands for each age group, with EF Ultimate Break itself requiring you to be between 18 and 30 years of age to travel. They have trips to places around the world, and are pretty much considered “all inclusive.” Their trips include a full time tour director, flights, hotels, some meals, and some excursions. Other meals and additional excursions are paid out of pocket or as an “add on.” You also have the option to opt out of their flights for a cheaper rate and get your own flights. Tour groups can be anywhere from 12 to 30+ people, and more often than not you’ll be traveling around in a charter bus while in the country.

Our Essential Travel Resources :
There are a lot of travel companies out there, but some are better than others. These are our favorite websites and resources to help you plan an incredible trip.

For flights, we recommend using WayAway or Hopper to compare the cheapest dates to travel to your destination.

Car rentals comparisons are best through Discover Cars - just make sure to bring your international driver's permit with you if you're heading somewhere international!

We always use AGODA for hotels. They have an easy-to-use platform where you can compare the best rates.

To keep cell phone service if you're traveling internationally, we always use Airalo’s
easy to purchase eSIM’s (no installation required), and always use NordVPN to stay safe while connecting to different wifi connections.

For fun things to do, we always recommend Viator to find the best tours in the area, otherwise Klook also does the trick, especially for tours in Asia.

Just in case, Safetywing is the insurance I always use for travel insurance.

Lastly, my packing list for your international or domestic travels.

Personally, I have been on 4 trips with EF Ultimate Break. I loved them so much that I also convinced Tyler to go on one with me to Tanzania, the other three I went on as a solo traveler, which is very common. I started with the Costa Rica tour in 2016, then China and the Dominican Republic in 2018, and finally the Tanzania tour in 2019. I had Turkey planned in 2020, but we all know how that turned out. To be honest, I absolutely loved every trip with them. We had great tour directors (minus the DR), and I met some incredible people while on these tours.

On top of that, you’re traveling with people who love adventure, and the experiences you’ll have are worth the money itself. Could you do the tour on your own at a cheaper price? Probably. Would it be a lot more work on your end and not as fun? Also, probably. EF Ultimate Break truly makes travel so easy - especially for first time travelers. And, if you wait to book during one of their sales (like Black Friday!) then their prices can be quite similar to what you’d pay out of pocket if you did the tour completely on your own. So, would we recommend EF Ultimate Break? 100% yes. As we plan for our world trip, we’ll definitely be including some of their tours - so if you have any questions make sure to follow along on IG or YouTube and feel free to DM us any specific questions you have!
