London & Wales Itinerary (1 Week)

During our 1 week itinerary we used a travel voucher we had through a Portuguese airline company, hence all the layovers. Without these or the layover in NYC you would have a few more days to explore the UK! This is a copy of the general itinerary we followed while exploring the UK.

Friday

• Fly Anchorage to Seattle to Atlanta to Newark

Saturday

• Arrive in NYC
• Stay : Selina Hotel, Chelsea
• Ideas : Empire State Building, Times Square, Korea Town, Broadway, Central Park, MET (*vaccine card required to enter Empire State Building*)

Sunday

• Ideas : Greenwich Village, 9/11 Memorial, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge
• Fly Newark to Portugal to London

Monday

• Arrive in London
• Stay : Hub by Premiere Inn London Westminster
• Ideas : 
  • ​Explore London via 24 hr Hop On-Hop Off Bus (London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Tooley Street aka Tower Bridge, Tower of London and Sky Garden, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Piccadilly Circus)​

Tuesday

• Ideas :
  • Finish Hop On Hop Off Tour (keep ticket to reuse today within 24 hrs!)
  • Abbey Road (St. John’s Tube Station)
  • Platform 9 3/4th (Kings Cross Station)
  • Afternoon Tea & River Cruise​
  • London Eye Sunset Ride​

For flights, we recommend using WayAway or Hopper to compare the cheapest dates to travel to your destination.

Car rentals comparisons are best through Discover Cars - just make sure to bring your international driver's permit with you if you're heading somewhere international!

We always use AGODA for hotels. They have an easy-to-use platform where you can compare the best rates.

To keep cell phone service if you're traveling internationally, we always use Airalo’s easy to purchase eSIM’s (no installation required).

For fun things to do, we always recommend Viator to find the best tours in the area, otherwise Klook also does the trick, especially for tours in Asia.

Just in case, Safetywing is the insurance I always use for travel insurance.

Friday

• Stay : Travelodge (however, we would NOT recommend this hotel, unless they implement some major upgrades and cleaning)

Saturday

• Fly London to Portugal to New York
• Arrive New York

• Fly from New York to Minneapolis to Seattle to Anchorage
