Our Essential Travel Resources :
There are a lot of travel companies out there, but some are better than others. These are our favorite websites and resources to help you plan an incredible trip. For flights, we recommend using WayAway or Hopper to compare the cheapest dates to travel to your destination. Car rentals comparisons are best through Discover Cars - just make sure to bring your international driver's permit with you if you're heading somewhere international! We always use AGODA for hotels. They have an easy-to-use platform where you can compare the best rates. To keep cell phone service if you're traveling internationally, we always use Airalo’s easy to purchase eSIM’s (no installation required). For fun things to do, we always recommend Viator to find the best tours in the area, otherwise Klook also does the trick, especially for tours in Asia. Just in case, Safetywing is the insurance I always use for travel insurance. Lastly, my packing list for your international or domestic travels. Information about the Jasper Skywalk
The Columbia Icefield Skywalk is located in Jasper National Park, about a two hour drive from the town of Banff. The views on this drive are absolutely stunning, and trust me when I say you will not want to snooze off on this short little road trip.
Once you park at the Columbia Icefield Discovery Center, you'll take about a 10 minute bus ride to the Skywalk itself. (Unless you stay at the Glacier View Lodge, which shares a parking lot from the departure point.) Ticket prices change everyday depending on how busy it is, so we recommend checking online to plan on visiting on the least busiest/expensive days during your trip. The Skywalk itself has glass floor panels, with stunning views of the Sunwapta Valley from 918 feet up! Once you arrive you have as long or as little as you'd like to hang out on the Skywalk, with buses bringing people back to the Discovery Center every 15-20 minutes. The entire walkway is about 1 kilometer long!

Our Experience - My Honest Review
Yes. DO IT. Was that too straight forward? ;) This entire activity was such an adrenaline rush and Tyler and I both had such a fun time hanging out on the Skywalk! We've done quite a few other glass floors before (like the Skydeck in Chicago, Space Needle in Seattle, etc.) but none of them have ever had a view like this. We had driven by a few days before and it honestly hadn't looked too exciting from the road, but once we got out on the glass it was truly incredible!
The only downside I felt was that it was a little crowded during our visit, but since we had no time limit we stayed a little longer and waited for the Skywalk to get a little emptier. However, feeling the glass move below us and enjoying the incredible views of the mountains, valley, and glaciers in the distance was absolutely mindblowing - and it's become one of our top recommendations for the entire area! If you don't have a car to drive up from Banff you can also hitch a ride on the Brewster Bus Tour! So is the Columbia Icefield Skywalk worth it? Honestly, yes - I 100% recommend getting out on the Skywalk for a fun time with the whole family, and if you're looking for something else to do in the area, I also recommend the Banff Gondola!
Fun Fact : to withstand the amount of wind the valley gets sometimes, the Skywalk is designed to move and shift, so you might just feel it moving as you make your way across!
